Location: This tour is held in western Tjan-Shan, Tashkent region of Republic of Uzbekistan.

 

Offered itinerary lies along the Kok-Su and Pskem rivers as well as it includes region of Big Chimgan (H=3309 m). Over passes of the Pskem range there are many pedestrian roads laid by tourists. Excursion around Charvak water reservoir is very popular, its shores transformed into areas for rest (beaches, sanatoriums, children’s summer camps). Besh-Aralsk State Nature Reserve is of great interest beyond doubt, as all itineraries lie on its territory.

This nature reserve is located on the middle part of Chatkal glen. Most part of its territory covered with steppes, and in valleys of rivers, there are juniper forests and slopes are covered with jumper sparse growth of trees.

Travelling along the Western Tjan-Shan on foot with rucksack, you will learn this area and will have a good rest.

 

Programme

Day 1.Arrival in Tashkent. Met at the airport and transfer to a hotel. Check in the hotel. A time to relax. Lunch. Excursion around the architectural monuments of Tashkent city, including visit to Kukeldash Medresseh (CXVI), Barak-Khan Medresseh (CXVI), Kaffal Al Shashe Mausoleum (CXVI), Khast-Imam complex and Orient Bazaar of Chor-Su,visiting old city, including Yunus-Khana Mausoleum, Museum of Applied Art, Square of Independence, Friendship Peoples Square, Metro, and the National Theater of Opera and Ballet for 4 hours. Dinner.Overnight at a hotel.

Day 2.Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport for an internal flight to Bukhara. Upon arrival in Bukhara check in a hotel. A time to refresh. Lunch in a traditional national house, tasting of local food. Enjoy sightseeing in Buhkara including visits to Samanid’s Mausoleum (IX-X cc.), Chashma Aub Mosque, Poi-Kalan complex (XII-XVI cc.), Ulugbek Madrassah, Lyabi-Hauz complex (XVI-XVII cc.), Sitorai Mokhi (XIX cc.), Khosa summer palace, Bolo Hauz, and the Ark Fortress. Dinner

Day 3.After breakfast at the hotel continuing full day sightseeing tour around this city with a private local guide. Lunch an dinner in a traditional national house, tasting of local food.

Day 4.Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Samarkand (D=270 km, T=4-4.5 hrs.).  Upon arrival in Samarkand check in a hotel. A time to refresh.  Lunch in a restaurant. Enjoy sightseeing in Samarkand including visiting the Guri-Emir Mausoleum (XV cc.), Registan Square (XVII cc.), Bibi-Khanum Cathedral Mosque (XV cc.), Ulugbek Observatory (XV cc.), Shakhi-Zinda Mausoleums ensemble, and Al-Bukhari complex and local bazaars. Dinner at a restaurant.

Day 5.Breakfast at the hotel. Go on full day sightseeing tour with a private local guide around Samarkand with visit to orient bazaar. Lunch and dinner at a restaurant.

Day 6.Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Tashkent. (D=290km, T=4-5 hrs.). Upon arrival in Tashkent check in a hotel. Lunch in a restaurant on the river site. A time to refresh. Free time, visit to orient bazaar. Preparation for trekking. Dinner.

Day 7.Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Brichmulla settlement (D=130km, T=2-2.5 hrs.). Lunch. Loading the caravan. Walk along the Kok-Su river (T=4-5 hrs.). Dinner. Overnight on the bank of the Kok-Su river in tents.

Day 8.Ascend along the Kok-Su river to Ayryk (T=5-6 hrs.). Lunch. Free time. Dinner.  

Day 9.Ascend to the Alyam pass (H=1995 m, T=4-5 hrs.). The wonderful panorama is visible from the summits and canyons. Lunch. A little rest. Descend from the above pass to the valley of the Chatkal river (T=3-4 hrs.). Free time. Dinner. Overnight on the bank of the Chatkal River in tents.

Day 10.Descend along the valley of the Chatkal river (T=4-6 hrs.). The route lies through the Kyrkyz National Reserve. Lunch. Free time. Dinner. . Overnight on the bank of the Chatkal River in tents. 

Day 11.Descend along the Chatkal River. The route concludes where the Chatkal River flows into the Chrvak Water Reservoir, also named as Aurakhmat. Farewell with the caravan and onward drive on a comfortable bus to Tashkent. (D=120km, T=2-2.5 hrs.). Upon arrival in Tashkent check in a hotel. Dinner in a restaurant on the river site.

Day 12.Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport. Departure from Tashkent.

Bukhara– Samarkand – Tashkent; Tashkent – Brichmulla, Aurakhmat – Tashkent – on a comfortable bus

On trek – pack animals (horses)
