Location:This tour is held in Western Tjan-Shan, Tashkent region of Republic of Uzbekistan.
Western Tyan-Shan mountains is wonderful place not only for pedestrian treks but also for enjoying bicycle riding trips. Most of the mountain both asphalt and earth roads which lie along the picturesque places meet interests of the most demanding traveler. Mountain tour on bicycles comprehends the vast Western Tyan-Shan area. Its active part goes on mountain roads and paths along basic rivers of Western Tyan-Shan such as Pskem, Oygaing, Koksu, creating Charvak water-reservoir on their flowing together.
In 60-70s geologists intensively discovered this area, who remained a great deal of roads going to the deep gorges. Some of these roads have been out of use already for years and nowadays they changed into paths very appropriate for bicycle riding but impossible for vehicles.
Besides whole natural magnificence of these places, there are many historical monuments beginning from the primitive state. Ancient drawings on the rocky walls, paces of primitive people stops as well as a good deal of legends tied up with the above places will make your tour more attractive and unforgettable.
Travelling along these places, one can appreciate the power of nature, which has not remained any trace from active affect of men on it for decades.
Programme
Day 1.Arrival in Tashkent. Met at the airport and transfer to a hotel. Check in the hotel. A time to relax. Lunch. Excursion around the architectural monuments of Tashkent city, including visit to Kukeldash Medresseh (CXVI), Barak-Khan Medresseh (CXVI), Kaffal Al Shashe Mausoleum (CXVI), Khast-Imam complex and Orient Bazaar of Chor-Su, visiting old city, including Yunus-Khana Mausoleum, Museum of Applied Art, Square of Independence, Friendship Peoples Square, Metro, and the National Theater of Opera and Ballet for 4 hours. Dinner. Overnight at a hotel.
Day 2.Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the small town of Gazalkent – the commence of this trek. (D=60km, T=1.5hrs.) Onward ride on bicycles to the Sidgak settlement (D=25km.). Camp I on the bank of the Pskem River
Day 3.Drive to Pskem settlement (D=40km). Camp II on the bank of the Urungach river.
Day 4. Drive to the Maidantal and Oygaing rivers confluence – up to the Karangitugai meteorological station (D=40km). Camp III.
Day 5.Drive to the snow-avalanche station. Of Oygaing. (D=40km). Camp IV on the bank of the Oygaing River.
Day 6.Round trip to the East Aiytor glacier (T=6hrs.) Overnight in the Camp IV.
Day 7.Descent down to the Camp III (D=40km). Overnight in the Camp III.
Day 8.Descent down to the Badaksay river (D=45km). Camp V on the bank of the Badaksai River.
Day 9.Descent down to the Sidjak settlement (D=45km). Overnight in the Camp I on the bank of the Pskem River.
Day 10.Drive on the earth roads over almond orchard to the Paltau (D=30km). The course first lies on the mountain dirt road and then on the wide smoothed out path. En route look over the place of recent excavations of primitive people stops, ancient drawings on the rocky walls,mountain waterfall. Set of the camp VI on the bank of the Catkal river.
Day 11.Drive up to the confluence of Sargardon and Akbulak rivers. (D=25km). Set of the camp VII on the bank of the Akbulak river.
Day 12. Descent down to the Chimgan natural boundary. (D=50km). Overnight at the cottages. Sauna.
Day 13.Transfer to Tashkent (T=2.5 hrs.). Upon arrival in Tashkent check in a hotel. Lunch in the restaurant on the river site. Walk around the city. Free time. Dinner.
Day 14.Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport. Departure from Tashkent.
Transport:
In Tashkent, From Tashkent to the trek commence and return to Tashkent – on a comfortable bus
Carry the basic Camp and tourists’ baggage for the entire itinerary - on a general-duty cross-country vehicle
Accommodations:
Tashkent– a hotel
On trek – tents (2 for a tent)
In Chimgan - cottages
Food:
3 meals a day in the cities
on trek – breakfast, dinner (hot course)
lunch - dry ration, hot tee, coffee.
